Malibu Highlights + Travel Guide

It’s been a long few travel-free months, but we recently found the courage and opportunity for a getaway (safely), and drove down to LA for some socially distant spots as a break from the norm. Sharing some highlights below that I would recommend in a heartbeat to family and friends!

Malibu

Stay | Malibu Beach Inn

Nestled along the famous Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) facing Carbon Beach, Malibu Beach Inn was such a treat to stay at. This stay was kindly gifted by the property, and was a thoroughly enjoyable and well-curated experience.

We enjoyed in-room dining facing the ocean, a cozy fireplace, and thoughtful touches like chocolate truffles the hotel staff left for us. The staff/property also employed rigorous cleaning and protocols to ensure a safe experience (all detailed out on a welcome letter for full transparency), such as mandatory social distancing, mask-wearing, alcohol-based hand sanitizers throughout the property and the ability to opt out of services involving staff.

Situated right next to their pier, this hotel has direct Carbon Beach access. We also fortunately did not need to drive off the property at all during our stay, given it was within walking distance to local delicious eateries, such as Nobu and Malibu Farm. Fun fact: Carbon Beach is also known as Billionaire’s Beach, as evidenced by its mansion-studded coastline. We had a fun time walking along the beach, flush with these mansions’ backyards! It would be such a privilege to stay at Malibu Beach Inn again. Thank you for having us!

Eat | Malibu Farm

Fresh and local (literally their motto), Malibu Farm has an abundance of delicious, organic brunch and dinner menu items to choose from. It was also the perfect place to stop for a coffee in the mornings before a walk down the pier. They have a second location at the very end of the pier, offering views on their deck of the ocean.

Eat | Nobu

Tasteful and classy, Nobu features a beach-side view, which we did not get the chance to fully enjoy after the sun had set. We popped in for some delicious desserts and we have our eye on the full menu for next time!
