One of my favorite parts of traveling is discovering a new lifestyle hotel and steeping in its full experience, especially in New York City. Here’s a roundup, with my honest review, of some of these places I’ve stayed at:

PUBLIC Hotel

Nestled on Chrystie St. in the Lower East Side, this hotel pretty much has it all — tasteful minimalistic interiors, rooftop bar with a view, a bright lobby and work space, PUBLIC kitchen with delicious bites, and a lovely gift shop/retail concept with thoughtfully curated home goods and gifts. I especially love their signature Le Labo candle scent Cade 26 that permeates their spaces (also available in their shop!). Of all of the places I’ve stayed at, this hotel is at the top of my favorites. Central, quiet, peaceful – featuring beautiful design, food and experiences, all at one’s fingertips.

MADE Hotel

Located in the bustling NoMad, there is so much to love inside and outside of MADE. First, is the wood-toned lobby with welcoming potted succulents – a space also shared by both Paper Coffee (one of my most favorite coffee meet-up spots) and Ferris, a New American restaurant with seasonal, eclectic dishes and a delicious breakfast offering. The interiors of the room are also thoughtfully designed, with my favorite part being the beautiful stone sink in their bathroom. Like PUBLIC, there is so much to be offered here.

Hotel Americano

Tucked away in a quieter part of Chelsea, this hotel features minimalistic rooms, a welcoming lobby, and a particularly delicious breakfast room service experience. The pool was under construction when I visited — I am hopeful that it has become a great addition to this hotel. I especially appreciated their Le Labo bathroom products and clean, beautiful bathrooms.

Arlo NoMad

Well-known for their panoramic floor-to-ceiling views of the city, nothing quite beats the view of the rooms at Arlo. Although the space was a little tight for their Queen Bed Sky room, the view of the surrounding city was unobstructed and quite impressive. I found their staff to be extremely accommodating particularly when I arrived hours early prior to my check-in time. The sandalwood scent of their lobby is also so lovely and inviting, and sold in apothecary bottles you can take home.

Note — many of the above accommodations were kind enough to extend a press rate or complimentary stay! Thank you for the hospitality.
